Shroom Brothers is a specialty mushroom farm at Stokers Siding in the Tweed Valley, Northern NSW, between Murwillumbah and the Gold Coast. Brothers Abel and Andrew Mohanu have run it as a family farm since 2015.
Yes. Certified organic by Southern Cross Certified (SXC), certificate no. 22075. No sprays are used at any stage of growing.
Eight varieties: oyster, king oyster, shiitake, lion's mane, chestnut, shimeji, black fungus (wood ear) and reishi. Maitake is in development.
Indoors, in purpose-built grow rooms on the farm. We make our own spawn and substrate. Spent substrate goes back to the community as free garden mulch.

At ten farmers markets a week: New Brighton (Tuesday), Murwillumbah (Wednesday), Byron Bay and Coolangatta (Thursday), Mullumbimby (Friday), Palm Beach (Saturday), and HOTA, Gold Coast Organic, Northey Street in Brisbane and Ballina (Sunday). The where to buy page lists times and addresses.
Shroom Brothers sells fresh lion's mane at the Coolangatta Community Markets on Thursday, Palm Beach Farmers Market on Saturday, and the HOTA and Gold Coast Organic farmers markets on Sunday. Restaurants and grocers can order it wholesale.
At the Byron Farmers Market on Thursday morning, the Mullumbimby Farmers Market on Friday and the New Brighton Farmers Market on Tuesday.
No. Fresh mushrooms are sold at our market stalls and delivered to trade customers. Grow logs are the one product we ship.
Keep them in the fridge in a paper bag or their punnet, unwashed, and use them within the week. Brush or wipe them clean just before cooking.
Yes. We deliver daily to restaurants, grocers and food distributors from Byron Bay to Brisbane, including the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers. See the wholesale page.

Restaurant kitchens can ask for a free sample box. Send your venue name and suburb. Sample boxes are for trade only.
Yes. Blue oyster, lion's mane and shiitake logs at $15 each, or $10 each for 20 or more. We ship them frozen Australia-wide, or you can collect from the farm on Mondays by arrangement. See grow logs.
